Programme:
The International Radio Festival presents a morning of short key note speeches offering an insight from some of the world’s pioneers within the radio industry.
Each key note speech will run for aprx 20-25 minutes, followed by a short round of audience Q&A’s thereafter. Speakers may make use of a projector should they wish to present visuals.
At the end of the key note speeches, all speakers will join as one panel to jointly discuss what the future holds for radio, within the increasingly saturated and fast paced internet era. The audience will also be invited to participate in the panel discussion.

- Tony Prince, London: One of the very first pirate radio pioneers, and founder of DMC World and MixMag
- Roger Schawinski, Radio 1, Zürich: Switzerland’s pirate radio pioneer, and re-inventor of Swiss radio
- Maarten Brouwer, Director of “This Is Africa”: Pioneers in setting up community radio stations in Africa
- Brian Joseph & Omar Husain, CJLO FM, Montreal: Acclaimed campus radio run by students
- Jon Manuel, Wild FM, San Francisco; Award winning radio with an award winning radio jockey
- Thomas Gilgen, Open Broadcast; co-founder of Switzerland’s first user generated radio platform
